Standing on God’s Commitment
“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.” - Joshua 1:5
Promises are powerful, but they can also be fragile. How many times have you counted on someone, only to be let down when you needed them most? People make promises with good intentions, but life happens, and sometimes those promises are broken. But God isn’t like that. When He makes a promise, you can stand on it, because He will never fail you or forsake you.
When God spoke to Joshua, He wasn’t just giving him a pep talk before a tough mission; He was making an unbreakable commitment. “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”
Joshua was stepping into a new role, leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, and God wanted him to know that no matter what challenges lay ahead, He wasn’t going anywhere. God was saying, “You don’t have to worry about Me abandoning you when things get tough. I’ve got you.”
God wants you to know that He is different. He’s not going anywhere. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He promises that He will not fail you or forsake you. That doesn’t mean life will be free of problems. God doesn’t promise that you won’t face storms; He promises that when the storms come, He will be right there with you. Others might abandon you, but God will not. He will be with you in the midst of your trials, holding you up, guiding you through, and never letting you go.
God is asking you to trust Him today, even when it doesn’t make sense. He’s asking you to stand on His promise because He will never fail you or forsake you. As you face the challenges of your life, remember that God has made a commitment to you, and you can stand on it. He won’t leave you hanging. He won’t let you down. He’s with you every step of the way, and that’s a promise you can trust.
