Get in the Right Position
“There was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon…” - Luke 2:25
Simeon’s journey to meeting the Messiah didn’t just start with a promise from God. It also involved making sure he was in the right position to receive that promise. After receiving the revelation from the Holy Spirit that he would see the Messiah before he died, Simeon could have stayed wherever he was. He could have continued with his life, waiting for the promise to come to him.
But instead, he went to Jerusalem, the place where Jesus would be revealed. He knew that being in the right physical and spiritual position was critical to fulfilling God's promise in his life.
The same principle applies to us today. We all have dreams and promises from God, but sometimes, we’re waiting for something to happen without realizing we may not be in the right position to receive it. Simeon knew that to see the Messiah, he had to be where God’s plan was unfolding. Likewise, we often need to adjust our own positions—spiritually, mentally, and physically—if we want to experience the fulfillment of God’s promises in our lives.
Are you in the right place to receive what God has for you? It’s easy to get stuck in unhealthy environments, surrounded by negative influences, or caught up in a mindset that doesn’t align with the life God is calling you to. You can’t experience the fullness of God’s promises if you’re not in alignment with His will for your life. Just as Simeon needed to be in Jerusalem, you need to make sure you're in the right place, whether that means physically getting to church, aligning your mindset with God’s word, or surrounding yourself with people who uplift and support your purpose.
God has great things for you, but are you in the right position to receive them? Don’t let anything hold you back from stepping into the fullness of His promises. Get in alignment and position yourself to experience all that He has in store.
