True Success Starts with the Soul
"Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul." - 3 John 1:2
Success is one of the most sought-after goals in life. People chase after financial security, career achievements, physical fitness, and personal fulfillment. Bookstores and online marketplaces are filled with guides promising the secrets to success. While there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve and grow, the question you must ask yourself is what kind of success are you really after?
The world defines success by what you have, what you achieve, and how others perceive you. But see, God defines success differently. His desire is not just for you to gain wealth, influence, or recognition. He wants your soul to prosper. The Bible teaches that when your soul thrives, the rest of your life follows. That does not mean life will always be easy, but it does mean that true success starts on the inside.
John D. Rockefeller once said, "Don't be afraid to give up the good to go for the great." That is the challenge for you today. Are you settling for temporary success when God is calling you to something greater? The greatest success is not in what you accumulate but in how you live. Jesus did not come to teach you how to make a living. He came to teach you how to live.
So many people spend their lives chasing after things that will never satisfy. But when your focus is on being an imitator of Christ, your definition of success changes. You begin to measure success not by your bank account but by your faithfulness. Not by your status but by your obedience. Not by how much you have but by how much you give.
Are you pursuing success in a way that honors God? Are you thriving in your soul, or are you only focused on external achievements? The world may tell you that success is about doing more and having more, but God says it is about becoming more like Him. Let that be your goal, and you will experience a success that lasts beyond this life.
