Waiting with Expectancy
“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him.” - 2 Corinthians 1:20
Waiting can be difficult. In a world that thrives on instant gratification, waiting often feels like a burden. But for those who trust in God’s promises, waiting isn’t passive. It’s an active process that involves both hope and expectancy. As you align yourself to receive God’s promise, you should wait with expectancy, knowing that He is preparing you for what He has in store.
Think about Simeon. He waited his entire life for the Messiah to come. He wasn’t just hoping that one day, the promise would be fulfilled. He waited with a deep belief that God would come through. His waiting wasn’t a vague hope that something might happen. It was a confident expectation that God’s promise was on its way. In his waiting, Simeon believed that God was actively preparing both him and his circumstances for the fulfillment of that promise.
Waiting with expectancy means you believe that God is not just making promises, but He is also preparing you to receive them. It means you trust that God’s timing is perfect and that He is working behind the scenes, even when you cannot see it. When you wait with expectancy, you actively prepare your heart, mind, and actions to step into what God has for you. It’s not just about hoping that God will show up one day, it’s about believing that He is preparing you for that moment.
This expectancy is what allows you to stay steady when the waiting seems long or the answer seems delayed. It’s what keeps you moving forward when things feel uncertain. God’s promises are not just distant dreams. They are living truths that are unfolding in your life. As you wait, position yourself with the belief that He is working on you, shaping you, and preparing you for His promise.
When you wait with expectancy, you don’t just sit back and hope. You live with the confidence that God is at work in your life, even when you cannot see it. This kind of waiting is full of purpose. Align yourself with God’s plan and wait with the belief that He is preparing you for something incredible.
