A Place of Safety
"Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together... There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David." - Psalm 122:3, 5
Life is full of chaos. The pressure to perform, the weight of expectations, and the noise of a world that never stops moving can feel overwhelming. When everything around you is unstable, you need a place of refuge. A place where you can breathe. A place where you are safe.
The psalmist saw Jerusalem as more than just a city. It was a fortress, a place of security where God’s people could find protection. The walls represented stability, reminding them that when they were within those boundaries, they were safe from outside threats.
That is what God wants for you. He wants you to have a place where you are safe, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. His presence is meant to be a refuge from the insanity of the world. A place where you do not have to perform, pretend, or prove yourself.
The world can be harsh. It will tear you down, label you, and push you to the margins. But in God’s presence, you are covered. You are not alone. You are not forgotten. His protection surrounds you, not just from external attacks but from the internal battles that weigh on your heart.
Maybe you have felt like you have nowhere to turn. Maybe you have been carrying burdens alone, feeling exposed and unprotected. God is offering you something different. A place where you can find rest. A place where you can lay down your worries and breathe.
You do not have to fight every battle on your own. You do not have to carry the weight of the world without relief. Step into God’s presence. Find safety in His care. Let Him be your fortress, your shield, and your peace. No matter what is happening around you, He will be the refuge you need.
