Success Through Surrender
"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" - Psalm 46:10
Psalm 46 is a victory song. It was written to celebrate how God delivered His people from the mighty Assyrian army. The psalmist describes God as a warrior, a strategist beyond comparison, and one whose power has no equal. He is undefeated, unmatched, and completely in control.
When we think of success, we often associate it with striving, planning, and achieving. The world teaches that success comes from pushing harder, working longer, and never slowing down. But Psalm 46 offers a different perspective. In the middle of describing God’s unmatched power, the Psalmist gives an unexpected command: Be still and know that I am God.
That is not what you expect to hear when reading about victory. You expect to hear about action, not stillness. But this verse reveals a powerful truth. Real success does not come from endless striving. It comes from surrender.
Israel’s victory did not come because of their own strength. It came because they trusted in God’s strength. They did not have to fight their own battles. They had to trust that God was fighting for them. The same is true for you. Success in God’s kingdom does not mean trying to control everything yourself. It means knowing when to step back and let God move.
Maybe you have been exhausting yourself trying to figure everything out. Maybe you feel like success is just out of reach, no matter how hard you work. The secret to true success is not about doing more. It is about trusting more. Being still does not mean doing nothing. It means resting in the confidence that God is already working things out on your behalf.
Are you running yourself into the ground trying to make life work on your own? Have you been relying on your own wisdom instead of seeking God’s direction? Take a step back. Be still. Surrender the need to control everything. Success God’s way is not found in striving but in trusting. When you let go, you will see that He has already won the victory for you.
