Believe Before You See
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1
True faith does not wait for proof. It believes before there is evidence. The psalmist writes, There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God. That would have been a shocking statement to those listening because Jerusalem had no river. But the psalmist was not talking about what was visible. He was declaring what was true in God’s provision.
That is faith. Trusting that even when you do not see a way, God has already made one. It is believing that God’s supply is greater than your need, even when your situation suggests otherwise. It is holding onto His promises, knowing that where you are today is not where you will always be.
The world tells you to believe only what you can see. But in God’s kingdom, you believe first, and then you see. Martin Luther King Jr. described faith as taking the first step even when you do not see the staircase. That means moving forward even when you have no idea how God is going to work things out.
Maybe right now, you feel like quitting. You have prayed, but nothing seems to change. You have tried to stand strong, but the weight of your situation is making you weary. Do not give up. Do not let go. You are not a failure unless you quit. You are not defeated unless you stop fighting.
Life does not always make sense in the moment, but like a book, it becomes clearer as you move forward. Keep believing. Keep pressing on. God’s provision may not always be obvious, but it is always there. Trust Him, even when you cannot see what He is doing. Hold on. Help is closer than you think.
