Finding Purpose in God’s Plan
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10
Have you ever followed your own plans, thinking they would lead to fulfillment, only to end up feeling empty and wondering, “Is this all there is?” It’s a frustrating cycle. You chase after dreams, relationships, or accomplishments, hoping to find purpose, but the satisfaction never lasts. That’s because true purpose isn’t something you create on your own, it’s something you discover when you align your life with God’s plans.
God’s plans aren’t random. He created you with intentionality, crafting a unique purpose for your life long before you were even born. When you step into His will, you’re not just going through the motions. You’re walking in the very reason you were created. That’s where purpose is found, in surrender.
When you try to find purpose apart from God, it’s like wandering through a maze without a map. You might stumble onto moments of success or happiness, but they’re fleeting. Deep down, you know there has to be more. And there is. God’s purpose for you is about more than checking off goals or achieving status. It’s about living a life that glorifies Him and impacts others in ways you couldn’t imagine.
Think about the times you’ve tried to carve your own path. Maybe you thought a career change would give your life meaning or that the right relationship would fill the void in your heart. Even if those things brought temporary satisfaction, they didn’t answer the deeper question of why you’re here. That answer is only found in God’s plans for your life.
When you trust His direction, you’ll find that your life has meaning beyond the surface. You’ll see how your gifts, experiences, and even your challenges fit into a greater story, His story. God’s purpose is bigger than anything you could come up with on your own, and it’s always good.
If you’re feeling lost or wondering what your purpose is, start by seeking Him. Pray, listen, and trust that He knows what’s best. When you follow His plans, you won’t just find a purpose, you’ll find the purpose you were created for. And in that, you’ll experience a fulfillment that nothing else can offer.
