Receive What God Is Doing
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" - Isaiah 43:19
When the exiles returned to Jerusalem, they came home to devastation. The city was in ruins. The walls were broken, the gates burned, and the temple was nothing but rubble. It would have been easy to sit there in despair, mourning what was lost and wishing things had turned out differently. But Nehemiah knew something that changed everything, God was not done with them.
Instead of staying stuck in regret, Nehemiah led the people to rebuild. Brick by brick, stone by stone, they put their city back together. They did not wait for perfect conditions. They did not sit around wishing things had never been destroyed in the first place. They rolled up their sleeves and started working right where they were.
That is what you need to do. If you spend your time looking back, wishing things had gone differently, you will never take hold of what God is doing now. Maybe your life does not look the way you imagined. Maybe you are standing in the middle of a mess, wondering how to move forward. But the good news is that God is always doing something new, and He is inviting you to step into it.
You do not have to wait for everything to be perfect. Start where you are. If there is a relationship you need to invest in, do it. If there is a skill you need to develop, learn it. If there is a business you need to start, take the first step. Just like a flower that finds a way to bloom between the cracks of a rock, you can grow right where you are planted.
God is making something beautiful, but you have to seize it. Do not sidestep it. Do not resist it. Do not let fear or regret hold you back. If you believe He is doing something new, then grab hold of it and walk forward in faith. The promise of Isaiah is not just that God is at work, it is that He is inviting you to receive it. The question is, will you?
