Strength in Community
"I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’" - Psalm 122:1
You were never meant to walk through life alone. The struggles you face, the challenges you endure, and the chaos you navigate are not meant to be handled in isolation. That is why God designed you for community. The psalmist understood this truth. Worship was not just an individual act. It was a collective journey.
When life gets overwhelming, your instinct may be to withdraw, to isolate yourself, and to try to figure things out on your own. But you were not created for isolation. You were created for connection.
Community gives you strength. It reminds you that you are not the only one fighting battles. It surrounds you with encouragement when your faith is weak. It challenges you to keep going when you feel like giving up. That is why Hebrews 10:25 reminds us not to forsake gathering together because we need each other more than we realize.
Think about the movements that have changed history. The Civil Rights Movement was not built on individual effort but on collective action. People found strength through faith and through one another. Before they marched, they prayed. Before they took action, they sought God. They understood that the power of worship was not just personal but communal.
Your faith is not just about you. It is about being part of something bigger. Jesus made it clear that His mission was about more than just individual piety. He came to bring freedom, to lift up the broken, and to change the world. And He calls you to do the same, but not alone.
Let me ask you a question: Who is walking with you? Who are you allowing to speak into your life, to challenge you, to encourage you? If you have been trying to handle everything by yourself, it is time to step into the strength of community. God moves when His people come together. Do not miss out on the power, the support, and the purpose He designed for you through community.

I asked God one Sunday morning, “What is going on in my life?” And He said to me, “Go to church.” I visited Mt Ennon that day, after an over 3 year, Covid related hiatus and found the loving community that my heart longed for. I heard a Word from God that opened my eyes, broke me down, lifted me up, spoke deeply to my soul and to my specific point in question. Now, I know exactly what’s going on in my life and I am intentional and very discerning about staying close to (or far from) family, my church community and many others who love and support me. Now, I run to the house of the Lord to worship Him! Also, to love on my family there, hear His Word, apply it to my life and spread it to others!
