Trusting God’s Resume

“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.” - Joshua 1:5  
  
In moments of uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the obstacles in your path. Just as Joshua and the Israelites faced enemies and challenges as they approached the Promised Land, you, too, will encounter hurdles on your journey.  

But in those moments, God wants you to consider His resume. He wants you to remember the countless ways He has proven Himself faithful in the past, both in the lives of those who came before you and in your own life.
 
Think about Joshua’s situation. He was stepping into big shoes, taking over from Moses, a leader who had witnessed incredible miracles. Joshua had been there through it all. He saw God deliver Israel from Egypt, part the Red Sea, and provide manna in the wilderness.

Joshua didn’t need to read about these events in a book; he lived them. And as he faced the daunting task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land, God reminded him of something crucial: “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you.”
 
This wasn’t just a comforting thought for Joshua; it was a powerful reminder of God’s unchanging nature. The same God who had been with Moses through every trial and triumph was now promising to be with Joshua. And that same God is with you today.  

When you face difficulties, it’s important to look back and recall the ways God has already shown up in your life. Think about the times He made a way when there seemed to be no way, when He provided for you, protected you, and guided you.
 
Remembering God’s resume gives you the confidence to trust Him with your future. It’s not just about what He did for others, but what He has done for you. Those “as I was” moments—when God showed up in undeniable ways—are the foundation of your faith. They remind you that God’s faithfulness isn’t just a thing of the past; it’s a promise for your present and your future.

So when you’re faced with challenges that seem insurmountable, pause and reflect on God’s resume. Remind yourself of His proven track record in your life. Let it strengthen your faith and give you the courage to move forward, knowing that as He was with Moses, and as He was with Joshua, so He will be with you.
