If I Don't Help Them, What Will Happen to Them?
"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James 2:14-17
As Christians, it's easy to become consumed with our own lives and problems. However, we are called to serve and help others. Sometimes we need to ask ourselves, "If I don't help them, what will happen to them?" This question helps us to understand the urgency of serving others.
When we serve others, we are showing the love of Jesus to them. We are also fulfilling our calling to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. It's easy to become complacent and think that someone else will help that person in need, but what if we are the only ones who can help them? What if our actions make all the difference in their lives?
We need to be intentional about serving others. This means looking for opportunities to help those around us. It means going out of our way to show kindness and love to those who need it. It means sacrificing our time and resources to make a difference in someone's life.
James 2:14-17 tells us that faith without action is dead. We can talk about our faith all we want, but if we aren't putting it into action by serving others, it's meaningless. God has called us to be his hands and feet in the world, and when we serve others, we are doing just that.
So, the next time you see someone in need, ask yourself, "If I don't help them, what will happen to them?" Let this question be a driving force in your life to serve others and make a difference in the world. When we serve others, we are fulfilling God's purpose for our lives, and we are showing the world the love of Jesus.
