Let the Word Speak for Itself
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." – 2 Timothy 3:16
One of the most dangerous things we can do with the Bible is twist it to say what we want it to say. We all have a tendency to do it. We come to the Word looking for permission instead of direction. We flip through verses, hoping to back up what we already believe instead of opening our hearts to hear what God might be trying to change.
But the Bible was never meant to be used as a tool to justify our preferences. It’s not a support system for our opinions. It is the voice of God meant to shape, challenge, and lead us into the life He designed. If you only ever use Scripture to prove your point, you’ll miss the points God is actually trying to make.
That’s why we have to approach the Word with humility. Not to force it to fit our agenda, but to trust that God knows what we really need. And the truth is, He does. He knows your heart. He knows your struggles. He knows what needs to be healed, what needs to grow, and what needs to go. The Bible doesn’t just reveal who God is. It reveals who you are, and who you’re becoming.
You don’t have to manipulate the message to make it work for you. You just need to stay open. When you let the Word speak for itself, God will meet you right where you are. He’ll lead you with wisdom, convict you with love, and stretch you into the best version of yourself. Not the version you thought you wanted, but the version He created you to be.
Don't search for shortcuts or confirmation of your way. Start leaning into His. Let Scripture do what only it can: guide you, correct you, inspire you, and shape your life into something better than you imagined.
