Better
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.’” - Jeremiah 29:11
Did you know that the plans God has for your life are BETTER than anything you have planned for your life? That is right. Even if you have the highest dreams and hopes for yourself, they cannot compare to God’s plans for your life.
Yesterday, we talked about PIPs. This stands for “Performance Improvement Plan.” These types of plans are often used in the workplace to give an employee an opportunity to succeed. But they aren’t just used in the workspace. God can use PIPs too.
In the same way that a boss or supervisor can put you on a plan to address weaknesses, shortcomings, and deficiencies in your job, God can put you on a plan to improve the path of your life.
Since we serve a God who wants us to succeed—who wants us to be better, do better, and have better—it is possible that rather than discarding us, He puts us on a plan to develop us. He doesn’t want us to be average, mediocre, or ordinary.
And so, when He sees that we are living beneath our potential, when He sees that we are going down the wrong path, when He sees that we could have a stronger prayer life, expand our knowledge of the Word, or increase our service, our sacrifice, our worship, our obedience, and our giving to Him, He gives us opportunities to improve.
When He sees that we could be better spouses, better parents, better Christians, when He sees that our capacity to go to the next level is being diminished by some habit, behavior, or lifestyle choices, He makes a plan for our improvement and advancement.
Are you living a life beneath your potential? God has a bigger and better plan for you. He doesn’t want you to stay where you are. He wants you to improve. He wants you to advance. There is so much more in store for you than what you are currently experiencing.
Allow God to show and give you BETTER. But it starts with doing BETTER. Let God lead you on a plan to advance your life and improve who you are in Him.
