Holy Spirit Move
“Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.” - Acts 2:2-3
There must be a shift in our individual lives, but there also must be a collective shift. It’s time for the Church to prepare for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit.
In Acts chapter 1, Jesus ordered everyone in the upper room to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit. In chapter 2 is the fulfillment of that promise during the Jewish festival known as Pentecost, or the feast of the thanksgiving harvest. Something phenomenal happened that changed the course of the Church and ignited a new era in ministry that had never been experienced or witnessed before.
Acts 2:2-3 says, “Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.”
According to the symbolism of Scripture, the sound they heard, the fire they saw, and the encounter they had was a move of the Holy Spirit upon them individually and collectively. And for the Church, that was something different. This was something special; for up to that point, the disciples relied on the physical presence, impartation, and instruction of Jesus to teach them, train them, and direct them.
But now, they would rely on God’s Spirit which would fill them and fuel them as they endeavored to follow and serve Him. And THAT would be a radical shift, a radical reorientation of anything they had experienced before.
Remember, God is three in one – God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. As a body of believers, we must be led by the Spirit. He is the guide Jesus gave us for holy living.
For there to be a spiritual shift, we need the Holy Spirit to move.
