Get Up
“So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” - Luke 15:20
Are you tired of your current circumstances? Are you frustrated by everyday life but just continue to do the “same-ole, same ole” day after day, week after week? There is a way to change, and it is not found in an infomercial, a motivational TikTok video, or a self-help book. It is a power gifted to you by your sovereign Lord.
Thanks to God, we can repair a life what has been broken and restore a relationship with Him that might have been lost. We can get our life back on track. We do not have to stay damaged. We do not have to remain broken, wounded, and unhealed. We can get back everything that that the enemy has stolen, or that life has taken. We do not have to remain victims of addiction, abuse, or trauma.
God provides us with an avenue of healing, restoration, and redemption, and if you are still alive, you can thrive. If you are still here, you can make it. You can get your joy back, your peace back, and get your life back on track. But first, you must get up. Luke 15:20 tells us, “So he got up and went to his father.”
The next part of the verse is great. The part where his father shows him compassion, giving him hugs and kisses, is encouraging. If you continue to read the story in Luke 15, you will see that the father gives the son his best robe, and has his chefs cook their best meal. But none of that came before the son got up and went to the father.
God is compassionate, and He will help you. But He won’t force you. You have to make the first move. We see in this story that the son, “got up.” Are you ready for life to change? Do you want to walk in the purpose and plan God has for your life? Do you want to discover your destiny? Get up and go to the Father.
