No Weapon
“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me.” - Isaiah 54:17
Why do we run from storms? Why do we avoid what is bad? Yesterday, we talked about storm chasers. These are people who go out into the storm to better understand how people can prepare and protect themselves when storms come. Because it is not a matter of if, but when they come. And the question is, when they come, are we prepared?
The problem is, when we are constantly running from storms, we are not prepared to face them. See, God places or allows these storms in your life to grow you and help you learn valuable lessons that you might not otherwise learn had you not gone through the storm.
God uses these storms, to mold you into the person you are destined to be. God has an amazing plan for your life, one that is far greater than you have imagined for yourself. And He wants to lead you to that destiny. But it is going to come with storms. But what really is so bad about the storm that makes us run?
The answer is fear. We are afraid the storm will overcome us. If we were certain we were going to win, if we were certain that things were going to come out in our favor, if we recognized this as God’s purpose that he was going to use for our good, would we still run? I do not believe we would.
But what if we could know? What if we could be certain? Isaiah 54:17 tells us, “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.” Wait, you mean to tell me, nothing that comes against me will prevail? I will not lose? When God is on your side, that is right. You can have the assurance you need and know that you will come out on top when you remain in Him. So do not run from the storm, embrace it knowing no weapon formed against you will prevail!
