From Darkness to Clarity
"And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, 'See that no one knows about it.' But they went away and spread his fame through all that district." – Matthew 9:30
There is a story in the Bible about two blind men sitting on the side of the road as Jesus passed through Jericho on His way to Jerusalem. That road was known for being a gathering place for people who were hurting, sick, or forgotten. Blindness in that time meant complete dependence. These men likely sat in the same spot day after day, hoping someone might notice them.
But something was different about that day. Jesus walked by, and they cried out for Him. They could not see Him, but they believed in what they had heard. And by the end of the encounter, their lives were completely changed. What started in darkness ended in clarity. They went from sitting beside the road with no direction to walking on the road with Jesus, filled with purpose.
Maybe you can relate. Maybe you feel like you are in a season where things are unclear. It could be spiritual blindness, where you are trying to hear from God but feel like He is silent. Maybe it is emotional, financial, or even professional. You feel stuck, unsure of your next move, unsure of what is going on around you, and the road ahead seems blurred.
But here is what this moment reminds us of. When Jesus steps in, clarity comes. The same way He opened their eyes, He can open yours. He can help you see what you could not see before. And once you begin to see through His eyes, things that once confused you begin to make sense. Decisions become clearer. Direction becomes sharper. Peace starts to rise.
You do not have to stay stuck. You do not have to live beside the road of your life, watching it pass you by. You can get up and walk with Jesus. You can move forward in confidence, even if you are still waiting for the full picture. Because when you walk with Him, every step reveals more than the one before. And one day, just like those men, you will look back and say, “I can see clearly now.”
