Changing Your Course
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” - Ezekiel 36:26
What happens when you are not headed down a life path that is pleasing to God? Maybe you are struggling with an addiction or an illness. Maybe there is something (or someone) in your past that you just cannot seem to shake, or you are running from God’s purpose for your life. The good news is that as long as you are breathing, there is time to change your course.
Saul was a persecutor of Christians but was reformed. David was an adulterer and murderer but found favor in God’s eyes. Peter denied Jesus but was used to minister to others and grow the early church. There are countless others in the Bible who God worked through to positively impact others.
Are you running from God because you don’t think that you are capable of being forgiven and healed? Do you wonder how you are going to turn your life around? Understand that there is no sin that is greater than the love of the God we serve. He is a rehabilitator and a restorer. He can change your life around if you are willing to turn away from that which is causing you to sin.
It won’t be easy, but you have to make a plan. Right down the negative things that you want to change. Right down the positive things you want to substitute in their place. Once you have your goals, regularly track how you are actively changing the negative into a positive. With dedication and persistence, those things that seemed impossible to escape will just be a thing of the past. God will give you a new spirit and you will be set on a course for your greater good!
