Try It Your Way
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” - Proverbs 3:5-6
As we have mentioned over the last few days, God wants to see what you will do when facing adversity. No matter how obedient you have been to Him, He will allow trials and tribulations to come upon you, and often times He just wants to see how you respond and how strong your faith is. What will you rely on or what decision will you make when you’re faced with adversity?
Yesterday, we talked about one of those decisions: giving up. What most people do when things become hard, or too difficult, is they just give up. It is not worth it to them to try and figure it out, to fight on and continue going forward. In a world of abundance there are too many other things they can try to do that might be “easier.”
But while many give up, there are a few who will still continue to fight for what they know they must do. However, they go about it all the wrong way. They try to will themselves to where they need to go instead of turning to God and allowing Him to lead them there.
If you are a believer, God has a special plan for your life. It is a plan only you can carry out. He hasn’t made it for you and others, just you. And no matter how closely you follow what He says and obey Him, there will be obstacles. But when those obstacles come, you are not alone. You do not have to fight and try to find the solutions on your own.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heard and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” God does not want you to lean on your own understanding. Because apart from Him, you cannot do what He has called you to do. It is impossible. You need Him. He wants you to submit to Him and let Him lead you.
Don’t make the mistakes so many others have of trying it your way, only to learn you can’t do it on your own. Let God lead you and save yourself the time. He will bless you for trusting Him!
