Freedom Starts with Truth
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." – John 10:10
There are a lot of people who carry deep guilt when it comes to the Bible. Somewhere along the way, they were taught that Scripture is mostly about punishment, correction, and exposing what’s wrong with them. So when they hear truth, they brace themselves for judgment. They expect to be made to feel small, disqualified, or beyond help.
But that is not what Jesus came to do. His mission was not to shame you, it was to set you free. He came so that you could live with purpose, clarity, healing, and peace. The truth in His Word was never meant to crush you under the weight of guilt. It was meant to lift you out of confusion and lead you into a better way.
Sometimes people misrepresent the Bible. They take verses out of context, or they use Scripture as a weapon to control others instead of letting it transform themselves. Over time, those distortions can create fear, shame, or distance between us and God. But the more you really engage with the Word (the full picture, not just fragments), the more you realize that God's heart is for you. His Word tells the truth, but it also extends grace. It calls out what’s broken but always invites healing.
Jesus didn’t say He came to give you rules. He said He came to give you life. Abundant life. That kind of life comes from walking in truth, but also walking in love. You don’t have to hide. You don’t have to carry guilt from your past. And you don’t have to settle for a shallow, fear-based version of faith.
You were made for more than that. And that’s exactly what the truth of God’s Word unlocks. Not more pressure, but more freedom. Let His Word shape you, not to punish you, but to restore and release you into the life you were always meant to live.
