The Power Comes After the Prayer
"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." – James 5:16
When Jesus entered Jerusalem during one of the most chaotic times in the city’s history, He didn’t go straight to the palace or the political leaders. He went to the temple. And when He got there, what He saw broke His heart. Instead of a place of power and prayer, the temple had become a marketplace. People who were desperate for God’s help were being met with corruption, greed, and distraction. So Jesus cleared it out. He flipped tables, shut things down, and brought the focus back to where it belonged: prayer.
Jesus understood something we often forget. Prayer is not a formality. It is not filler. It is the pipeline of power between heaven and earth. When the temple returned to prayer, something happened. People brought their brokenness to Jesus, and He healed them. What was blind could now see. What was lame could now walk. But none of that happened until the obstacles were removed and prayer was restored to its rightful place.
Maybe that is what needs to happen in your life, too. Maybe the pain you are feeling is real, but the breakthrough hasn’t come because your focus is in the wrong place. Prayer is not just about relief. It is about alignment. When your posture shifts toward God, healing begins. When your heart is open and your mind is set on Him, power starts to flow. You don’t need to perform. You don’t need to prove anything. You just need to pray.
There is power to heal, power to change, and power to restore, but it starts with prayer. When prayer becomes your priority, things begin to move. Strength returns. Clarity comes back. What once felt stuck starts to shift.
If you are tired of the pain without the progress, check your posture. Get back to prayer. That is where the power always starts.
