Praying to be Replenished
“For I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” - Jeremiah 31:25
When you are going through difficulty in life, and you just need the strength to get through, the best thing you can do is turn to God in prayer. God is the greatest source of strength and can provide for us what no one else or nothing else can. He is the Giver who provides for all of our needs and in times of difficulty, there is nothing we need more, than God Himself. But when we pray to Him, what is it we really need during these times? What are we asking for?
Yesterday, we talked about asking God for resilience in times of hardship. Today, we want to talk about being replenished. To be replenished, quite simply means to “fill up again.” We need God to fill us up again. You know what it is like to go through something difficult. Whether it is losing your job, finding out a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer, or your spouse decided to up and leave. Devastation, disappointment, and heart break can happen in so many ways.
When horrific situations like these happen, they just take everything out of you. They empty you. There is no way you can continue moving forward. You do not have the strength to do so, the circumstances, the situation, or maybe even the people involved, have taken everything from you. This is when you need God to replenish you. You need to be filled back up again.
No matter what happens in your life, if you are still breathing, God has a plan and purpose for your life. There is no situation, circumstance, or person, that can off set or disrupt the perfect plan of God. He will use any and every circumstance for your benefit. When you feel empty, like you have nothing left, ask God to replenish you. He will not let you remain empty. He has an incredible plan for your life. He will refill your cup. He will restore you, and He will use your circumstances to bring you out even greater than you went in. If you are feeling empty, let God fill your cup up today!
