When the Church Has More Than Enough
“And they received from Moses all the offerings that the Israelites had brought for the work of constructing the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning.” - Exodus 36:3
In life, we’re often told there’s never enough. Not enough time, money, skill, or opportunity. This idea of scarcity shapes how we see the world and ourselves. When we feel like we don’t have enough, we start acting as if there will never be enough. Psychologists even say that this mindset traps us in a cycle of lack. We become so focused on what we don’t have that we stop believing things can get better.
But Scripture gives us a different perspective. In Exodus 36, we see the Israelites coming together to build the sanctuary. They brought so many offerings for the work that Moses had to tell them to stop! Imagine that—having more than enough to meet every need. That’s not something the world expects, but it’s exactly what God promises. The world may operate on scarcity, but God’s kingdom operates on abundance.
When we focus on what we lack, we begin to live small, fearful lives. But when we trust God’s provision, everything changes. The same God who provided for the Israelites is still providing today.
Psalm 24:1 reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” God isn’t running out of resources, and He isn’t holding back from you. He’s a God of abundance, able to do more than we can ask or imagine.
What would your life look like if you believed there was more than enough? More than enough time to pursue your dreams. More than enough resources to live generously. More than enough love, hope, and joy to fill your days.
God is calling you to rise above the scarcity mindset and live in His abundance. You don’t have to stay stuck in “not enough.” When God is in it, there’s always more than enough.
