Surpassing Where You've Been
"No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you." - Joshua 1:5
Life has a way of taking us through seasons of change, uncertainty, and sometimes even despair. You may have experienced moments when everything you knew seemed to crumble, when dreams were shattered, relationships faltered, or when you faced a crossroads with no clear path ahead.
In these moments, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, questioning if anything good could ever come out of such difficult times. But there's something you need to remember: where you're going with God will surpass where you've been. The new season God is leading you into holds greater blessings than anything you've left behind.
Joshua and the Israelites found themselves in such a moment. After 430 years of bondage in Egypt and 40 years wandering in the wilderness, they stood on the brink of a new beginning. Moses, the leader who had guided them out of Egypt, was gone. But God's promise didn't die with Moses.
The Lord anointed Joshua to lead this new generation into the land He had promised their ancestors. As they prepared to step into their purpose, God assured them that His promises were still valid, His presence still with them, and His power still at work.
First, God assures you of His presence. Just as He was with Moses and Joshua, He is with you. You don't have to navigate this season alone. He is with you in every decision, every challenge, every victory, and every setback. His presence is constant and unchanging.
Second, God promises His protection. “No man shall be able to stand before you, He says. That means no challenge, no opposition, and no hardship can overpower the God who stands with you. Whatever you face, remember that the God who led His people through the Red Sea and the Jordan River is the same God who walks with you today.
Finally, God assures you of His faithfulness. He will not leave you or forsake you. When friends may fail, when circumstances change, and when life takes unexpected turns, God's faithfulness remains. He will keep every promise He has made to you.
This is your new era, a new season filled with opportunities to reclaim what the enemy tried to steal. Where you're headed with God is far greater than anything behind you. Stand firm on these assurances: His presence, His protection, and His faithfulness. They are the foundation for your journey into this new season.
