Three Blessings From The Father
"Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus and are faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. He destined us for adoption as his children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace that he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." - Ephesians 1:1-6
In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he gives us a powerful reminder of the blessings we receive from our heavenly Father. These blessings are not just abstract concepts but tangible realities that shape our daily lives and our walk with God. When we understand and embrace these blessings, we tap into the power that God has made available to us.
First, Paul tells us that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. This means that through our relationship with Jesus, we have access to all the resources of heaven. These blessings empower us to live out our faith, overcome challenges, and fulfill God's purpose for our lives. God's power is not a distant promise but a present reality, equipping us to face each day with confidence and strength.
Paul also reminds us that we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before Him in love. This is a profound affirmation of our identity and purpose. God intentionally chose us to live lives that reflect His holiness and love. His power enables us to live set-apart lives, demonstrating His character to the world around us. We are called to be His representatives, shining His light in a world that desperately needs it.
Lastly, Paul speaks of our adoption as God's children through Jesus Christ. This is a beautiful picture of our new identity in Christ. As adopted children, we are part of God's family, with all the rights and privileges that come with that status. This means that the power of God is not just something we occasionally tap into but a constant reality of our identity. We have a permanent, unbreakable connection to the source of all power and authority.
Embrace these blessings today and let the power of God flow through your life. You are chosen, holy, and adopted by the Father, and His power is at work within you for a divine purpose.
