Will You Let Go?
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Yesterday, we explored the concept of "unblending" our core self from our wounded parts. We discovered that living a Spirit-led life means separating the new, transformed person God is making us into from the old, scarred, sinful person we once were. This process is essential for us to fully embrace the life God has called us to live.
Today, I want to ask you a crucial question: Are you going to let go?
Letting go is not easy. It means releasing the pain, the disappointment, the heartache, and the sin we have held against ourselves for far too long. We often blend our new selves with our old wounds, creating a constant struggle within us. But to live the Spirit-led life, we must let go of these burdens.
Think about it. God has called you to a new life, a life where the old has gone, and the new is here. But you cannot fully experience this new life if you are still clinging to the past. The pain and disappointment from your past can hold you back from experiencing the fullness of God's love and grace.
Consider the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This verse reminds us that we are new creations in Christ. The old self, with all its scars and sins, has been put to death. We are now alive in the Spirit, free to live a life of purpose and joy.
However, this freedom requires a conscious decision to let go. Let go of the pain. Let go of the disappointment. Let go of the heartache. Let go of the sin you have held against yourself. It’s time to embrace the new life God has for you.
The question is, will you let go?
Will you allow Jesus to take the wheel and guide you into this new life? Will you trust Him to heal your wounds and transform your heart? Remember, blending the new with the old is not an option. You must choose to fully embrace the new creation God has made you to be.
Today, make the decision to let go. Release your burdens to God and walk in the freedom and joy of the Spirit-led life. Trust that God has a beautiful plan for your life, a plan that can only be realized when you let go of the past and step into the new.
