A Life of Purpose
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
We often hear about the peace and joy that come from letting Jesus take the wheel, but there’s another important benefit: finding true purpose. Many of us struggle with a lack of direction and meaning in our lives, feeling as though we are simply going through the motions.
This emptiness can persist when we insist on driving our own car, relying on our limited understanding. However, when we surrender control to Jesus, we discover a sense of purpose that is both fulfilling and divinely orchestrated.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. This means submitting to Him in all our ways and allowing Him to direct our paths. When we let Jesus take the wheel, we align ourselves with God’s greater plan for our lives, which is inherently purposeful and meaningful.
Driving our own car often leads us to chase after goals and ambitions that, while seemingly important, leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled. We may achieve success, accumulate wealth, or garner accolades, yet still feel a void within. This is because true purpose is not found in worldly achievements but in aligning ourselves with God’s will and design for our lives.
When we relinquish control and let Jesus take the wheel, we open ourselves up to God’s unique plan for us. He created us with specific gifts, talents, and a purpose that only we can fulfill. By trusting Him, we allow Him to guide us to where we can make the most significant impact, not just for ourselves but for His kingdom.
Living a life of purpose means recognizing that our actions and choices have eternal significance. It’s about using our God-given gifts to serve others, bring glory to God, and advance His kingdom. When we trust Jesus to lead us, we are empowered to live intentionally, knowing that our lives matter and that we are making a difference in ways that truly count.
If you’re feeling lost or purposeless, consider letting Jesus take the wheel. Surrender your plans, ambitions, and desires to Him, and trust that He will lead you to your true calling. Embrace the journey with faith, knowing that He will make your paths straight and guide you to a life of purpose and significance.
