Keep Moving Forward in Faith
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." - Isaiah 43:18-19
As we reflect on the lessons from King David's life and the principles of navigating grief and loss, it's essential to recognize that action is required on our part. It's not enough to merely acknowledge these truths; we must apply them to our lives and allow God to work in and through us.
Challenges will undoubtedly arise as we seek to keep looking up in the midst of adversity. We will face moments of doubt, where the enemy whispers lies of condemnation and shame in our ears. We may feel overwhelmed by grief, unable to see beyond our pain and sorrow. And there will be times when our faith wavers, and we question whether God is truly present in our circumstances.
But in the face of these challenges, God is calling us to take action. He's calling us to:
1. Reject Condemnation: When the enemy tries to remind us of our past mistakes and failures, we must remind him of his future defeat. We are not defined by our past; we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Let go of guilt and shame and embrace the forgiveness and grace that God offers.
2. Walk Through the Grief Cycle: Don't allow yourself to remain stuck in one stage of grief. Recognize the importance of processing your emotions and experiences and allow yourself to move through the stages of shock, anger, bargaining, and acceptance. Trust that God is with you every step of the way, guiding you through the darkness into a new season of hope and healing.
3. Strengthen Your Relationship with God: Cultivate a deep and abiding relationship with God that is not based on what He can do for you, but on who He is. Spend time in prayer, fasting, and worship, seeking His presence and surrendering your desires to His will. Trust that God knows what's best for you and that His plans for your life are good and purposeful.
Yes, the journey ahead may be challenging, but God has promised to make a way for us even in the wilderness and to bring streams of living water into the wasteland. He's inviting us to step out in faith, trusting Him to lead us forward into a future filled with hope and promise.
Start by taking action today. Reject condemnation, walk through the grief cycle, and strengthen our relationship with God. As you do, you will experience His peace, His comfort, and His guidance every step of the way. Keep moving forward in faith, knowing that God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
