VIP Status in the Kingdom
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28
Let me paint a picture for you, one that might resonate with an experience you've had or observed. Imagine standing in line outside a club, waiting patiently for your turn to enter the party. Yet, as you wait, you notice some individuals bypassing the line altogether, effortlessly gaining entry with a mere nod to the security guard. It feels unjust and unfair, doesn't it?
I encountered a similar scenario many years ago. As I waited in line, frustration building, I couldn't help but question the disparity in treatment. Why were some granted immediate access while others waited indefinitely? The answer became apparent when I reached the front of the line and inquired about the discrepancy.
"It's simple," the doorman explained. "They're VIPs. Their connection to the host earns them a coveted spot on the VIP list, granting them privileged access to the festivities. Once your name is on that list, entry is guaranteed."
In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul echoes this concept of VIP status within the Kingdom of God. He reminds believers that citizenship in God's Kingdom affords them exclusive access to divine promises. When Paul declares, "WE have these promises," he underscores the unparalleled privilege bestowed upon those who align themselves with Christ.
But this VIP status isn't arbitrary; it's rooted in our identity as citizens of God's Kingdom. Just as Prince William and Prince Harry are bound by the protocols of royalty, believers are bound by the principles of God's Kingdom. Our position in the Kingdom guarantees us protection, provision, and promises beyond compare. Yet, to fully experience these blessings, we must adhere to the Kingdom's protocol.
As representatives of God's Kingdom, we are called to walk in obedience, aligning our lives with His principles and purposes. Just as VIPs are expected to conduct themselves according to royal standards, so too are believers called to live in accordance with the Kingdom's precepts.
As believers in Christ, it’s time to embrace our VIP status in the Kingdom of God, recognizing the privilege and responsibility it entails. Let us walk in obedience, knowing that as citizens of God's Kingdom, we are recipients of His unparalleled promises and blessings.
