Continue in the Faith
“When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.” - Acts 14:21-22
If you are going to follow God, it will take patience. There is no way around it. This life is not always easy, even for the most committed believers. God promises us that we will go through trials and tribulations.
Acts 14:21-22 says, “When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.”
Following God will not always be easy. But it will always be worth it. It is through trials and tribulations that we grow. Paul tells us this. But the only way to grow is to persevere and continue in faith.
Anyone can believe when things are going well. It is easy to smile, be grateful, and have a good attitude when everything goes your way. The difference is found in those who are experiencing real difficulty.
When in the midst of difficulty, hard times, and suffering, you can still persevere. You can still encourage others. You can still find ways to serve. When you continue in the faith to trust God no matter how your circumstances appear, God will use you in mighty ways.
The testimony and impact you will have on the lives of others will be unimaginable. Think about it, most people struggle to mask the emotions of the situations dictating their life. But when you can separate what is happening to you from the one who holds your life, then you can remain in the faith, even when life is hard.
Continue in the faith. God ALWAYS rewards obedience. And that reward is tenfold in comparison to the suffering!
