God’s Power
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.’” - Matthew 19:26
Faith is trusting God for things that have not happened yet. But what is that faith based on? It is based on the POWER of God. What we are trusting is that God has the power and ability to change people or circumstances in ways that we have not yet seen.
What makes it hard to believe is that in our mind, there is no prior evidence of that change. We see people who have acted one way their entire lives. We have seen countless examples of them doing certain things. That is who they are, so why would they change now?
We have lived through circumstances that have not changed for quite some time. Others call it a “season” but for us, it just feels like a way of life now. There is no sign of change anywhere, so what incentive do we have to believe it now?
The reason we can believe in that change and believe that God is going to do something—the reason we can have this type of bold faith—is because of the POWER God possesses. As God of the universe, He can do anything He wants to do.
Matthew 19:26 tells us such, “Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.’”
When we think from a human perspective, we can quickly put limitations on what the outcome may be. From experience, we gauge what is possible and what is impossible. But that is the problem. We are thinking from a human perspective.
For God, none of these things are even remotely difficult. He can change people and circumstances in the blink of an eye. It is easy for Him. Place your faith not in the world but in the POWER of the Almighty God! And in His time, He will make the shift!
