“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14
Over the last few days, we have been discussing the power in prayer. 2 Chronicles 7:14 very clearly depicts what we must do if we want to receive the blessings God has in store for us.
The verse says, “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”
So, we know, as a child of God, we are His chosen people. We must humble ourselves before going to Him. Then, we must pray and seek Him and His will for our lives. The fourth thing we must do is turn from our wicked ways.
Listen, God cannot work through someone who is resisting His will. This does not mean that He expects us to be perfect. No human being besides Jesus Christ has ever or will ever live a perfect life on earth. God does not expect that. What He does expect is that when we sin, we will choose to repent—to express sincere regret or remorse about our wrongdoing or sin—and turn from that sin.
God is not going to achieve all that He has designed for us if we are not obedient to Him. God hates sin, and He will not bless us while we are choosing sin over Him.
If you want to live the life God has designed for you, the best version of your life, then turn away from any wickedness. The quicker you repent, the quicker you can start to experience His blessings and peace in your life!
