Last Night Look An L…
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” - 1 Peter 2:9
Have you taken an “L” recently? For those wondering, “L” means, have you taken a loss? Have you lost something important to you? Maybe it was a relationship? A loved one? Maybe it was your job? Maybe you had a financial setback? Whatever the case may be, we have all taken “L’s” from time to time.
Attacks, losses, grief, breakdowns, breakups, tragedy, layoffs, letdowns, heartaches, struggles, stress, nor pain are easy to endure. The good news of the Bible is that if you are committed, determined, and steadfast, you can turn every loss into a win, every setback into a setup, and every defeat into a victory.
Jesus says in 1 Samuel 30:8, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!” The rapper, Big Sean has the famous line, “Last night took an L, but tonight I bounce back.” That is what I want to help you understand, regardless of what you have lost, what was taken from you, or what you have endured, you can bounce back from it.
You can bounce back from being fired. You can bounce back from being let go. You can bounce back from rejection. You can bounce back from grief. You can bounce back from divorce. And I think that is good news that our troubles do not have to last forever! You might be in the midst of loss in your life right now, but that loss does not last forever.
You will bounce back. Your time is coming. And this is not the end of your story! God has so much more in store for you! Are you ready to bounce back?
