His Timing, His Way
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give you is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” - John 14:27
Are you still looking for clarity in your life? Did something happen in your past that you just can’t seem to shake? Deep down you know that you need to move on, but your heart and mind just won’t allow you to. You are still looking for some sort of clarity.
As we mentioned yesterday, our minds work in a storytelling format. Your need for clarity is not unique to just you. As human beings, we all are a product of the stories we tell ourselves, the stories that others tell us, and the stories that God has told us through His Word. We are a product of the stories we believe to be true, and that is what shapes our lives.
Our need for clarity is a need to close one chapter and begin a new one in the story of our lives. You are not wrong for wanting clarity over a situation that happened in your past, whether it was a damaged relationship, a job that went sideways, or an injury caused by someone else. You want answers, and that is understandable.
The problem is not in your want for clarity. The problem is that you cannot control when that clarity might come. God might just grant you the clarity you need, but as we know with all things God does, everything happens in His perfect timing. God will give you clarity when He deems it the right time.
But here’s the thing: you can’t wait around for God to give you clarity. When you spend all your time waiting for clarity, you are wasting precious time that you could be living God’s purpose for your life. The Bible does not say, “After you have clarity, serve God.” It never says anything like that!
God wants you to serve Him NOW. He will give you clarity when it is time. All you need is His peace. John 14:27 tells us, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give you is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
The peace God gives is more than enough for you. Do not wait around for answers, but instead let God lead you into the next chapter of your life—in His timing and in His way!
