Upgrade Your Equipment
“Now all glory to God, who is able through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” - Ephesians 3:20
Over the past few days, we have mentioned the terrible mistake made by Mike Lazaridis, the former co-CEO of Blackberry, to not “upgrade his equipment.” What we did not mention is why he chose against allowing users to surf the internet on the first Blackberry.
For him, it would have required an expanded operating system with more memory and a faster processor to enable phones to surf the internet without the experience being too slow. At the time Blackberry ran on one processor and used only 32 MB of memory. Apple, by contrast, used 2 processors and 700 megabytes of memory.
Because he didn’t want to upgrade their equipment, the devices were not able to handle greater functions and applications. And as a result of their complacency, the company faltered and failed. In a similar way, there are so many Christians dying spiritually because they’ve become spiritually complacent.
They don’t worship like they used to worship. They don’t read the Word like they used to read the Word. But if God is a big God, you need increased capacity in order to handle the increased potential. In other words, it is time to upgrade your equipment!
This is the time to go deeper with God. Paul says in Ephesians 3:20, “Now all glory to God, who is able through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
God is ready to lead you in and to big things. But you must be ready to handle all that He has in store for you. We know God is never late, but He is also never early. If you are going to accomplish infinitely more than all you might ask or imagine, you must be ready. And being ready starts with upgrading your equipment.
