Where You’ve Never Been
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11
In her 1983 book "Sudden Death," novelist Rita Mae Brown says, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” There is also an old saying that goes, “If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.”
If you want to reach your full potential and live the life God intended for you, you are going to have to let go of whatever it is that is holding you back. Over the last couple of days, we have referenced Lot’s wife who was caught up in the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
We are told about her, not so that we can make fun of her, but so that we can learn from her. If we want to make it to the place of refuge that God has for us, if we want to make it to and through the next season of life that God has arranged for us, we must have the power to let go.
I want you to know right now that there is a new city, a new environment, and a new territory that God has for you. It is filled with peace and success. It is stress-free, but you’re going to have to have the capacity to leave those things that are hindrances so that you can walk purposefully into your future.
If you want something you’ve never had, if you want to go somewhere you’ve never been, you are going to have to do something you have never done. You are going to have to release the thing that is holding you back.
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God wants to do something in your life, and it might just be huge. But you won’t know…until you let go.
God can take you where you’ve never been, but first, you have to do what you’ve never done: LET IT GO!
