Not Fatal or Final
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it out on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 1:6
Did you know that you are not consigned to a life of unhappiness, frustration, or separation from God? You can experience the newness of life again. You can dream again, and you can experience love and happiness again. You can be whole again.
The Prodigal Son found that out. Yes, he was impatient and could not wait on God’s timing to receive his inheritance. He went to a distant country where he surrounded himself with people who did not share his morals and values. It caused him to lose everything he had, and he ended up feeding and eating with swine. Can you imagine that? He is a Jew eating with swine. He had hit rock bottom.
He was at the lowest point a person could go; but as bad as his situation was, it was not fatal or final. He was able to turn things around. If you are not satisfied with where you are in life, if you want more, and sense that there is something better—that where you are is not your final destination—then hold on.
The circumstances or choices that have caused you to get off track can be corrected, and you can start going in the right direction again. If you are still breathing, your story is neither fatal nor final. Philippians 1:6 tells us, “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it out on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
It says you can be confident that Jesus will carry it out until completion. That means He will finish what He started. If you are not there yet, you will be. Your story is not finished. With God, where you are now is not where you will end up. Rejoice in the fact that there is so much more to be written!
