Can You Wait For It?
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! - Psalm 27:13-14
Have you ever noticed how most of the things that you want badly require you to wait to get them? You have to wait to receive an education, obtain a degree, and get a good job. You have to wait to determine if the person you met is going to be the one you are going to be with. You have to wait 9 months after conception to give birth to a newborn baby. You have to wait in line at the grocery store, at the bank, and at the doctor’s office.
There is nothing fun about waiting. It can be quite excruciating. I have heard someone pray for patience and in a matter of moments ask God, “Lord, do it now.” The truth is we do not like waiting. It is bad enough having to wait on the microwave, but it is another thing to have to wait on God, especially when it comes to things we believe God has spoken to us and over us.
There is this gap in time, this pause in the process between the revelation and the manifestation; between the time God says things are going to turn around and things actually turning around. And it is that in-between time that is the hardest to endure. And so we have to have the spiritual stamina to wait on God to manifest what He has spoken.
But I believe we can be sure that God is getting ready to change and transform our lives. We can be sure that God is preparing to alter our reality and our world in such a way that will blow our minds. There is no doubt that God is turning your health, your relationships, your finances, and your faith around for your good. The issue is, can you wait for it to get it?
