Is There Anything Too Hard For The Lord?
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” - Genesis 18:14
If you are reading this, God wants me to tell you that the thing you’ve been waiting for is about to come to pass. It’s on the way. The miracle, the healing, the deliverance, the breakthrough, it’s on the way. And when God does it, He’s going to blow your mind.
The Bible says Sarah laughs because she is unclear how God could do the impossible in the lives of two people of their age. They had already been waiting over two decades for this to happen, and nothing happened. She laughs now, as Abraham does in the prior chapter because they are so close to giving up on the promise. But it was a unique kind of disbelief. It was not a disbelief that God wasn’t able, it was a disbelief in whether God would do it for them.
The Lord said to them, “is there anything too hard for the Lord?” It’s the same question God raises to someone frustrated with where things are in their life. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? The Lord reaffirmed and reassured this aged couple of the promises He previously made. With Abram nearing a hundred and with a wife who wasn’t too far behind, the Lord’s reassurance really exceeds their wildest imaginations.
We tend to think small, but God thinks BIG. We tend to think within the box, but God thinks outside the box. When we think about what is possible, God thinks about the impossible. It’s why Ephesians 3:20 says, that “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ever ask or think.” When you think ordinary, God thinks extraordinary. He specializes in exceeding our expectations, and what He has in store for you is bigger, more rewarding, and more fulfilling than you can imagine!
