I Still Believe
“…all things are possible to him who believes.” - Mark 9:23
I once heard a story about when explorers first visited Australia, they found a mammal that laid eggs, dwelled in water and on land, had a flat tail and webbed feet, and a bill like a duck. Upon their return to England, they told the populace of this, and everyone believed it was a hoax. They returned to Australia and found a pelt from this animal and took it back to England, but the people still felt it was a hoax. The people disbelieved because they didn't want to believe.
Jesus said in John 5:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” The New Testament highlights on more than 60 occasions that “eternal life” is given to those who put their faith in Christ alone for salvation.
The Lord responds to our faith and credits to our accounts righteousness to those who believe. He makes sure that there are no overdraft fees—that the enemy can never come and repossess our soul, that there will always be enough righteousness in our account.
God can do anything, anytime. He is all powerful. Sometimes, He isn’t changing your circumstances because He is trying to change you. He simply wants your faith. He wants you, no matter the outlook, to say, “Lord, I still believe.”
