God’s Promises Are Sure
“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ ascends to God for his glory.” - 2 Corinthians 1:20
The Bible says that God is not a man that should lie. If He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. One reason so many people give up on God in the waiting process is because they do not live as if God is certainly going to do what He said He would do. Though it has not happened yet, God wants you to live as though it already has, not hoping that it will come, but knowing that it will.
Waiting can be extremely hard. But what makes it easier is knowing that there is a deadline, that there is a point that comes where everything changes. And this is not a “maybe things will change.” This is a guarantee, 100% without a doubt, God will do everything He said He would, because His promises are sure.
The Bible talks a lot about waiting. Pastors and biblical teachers talk a lot about waiting. But what often gets lost is the assurance of what is coming. While the waiting period is unknown, what is on the other side is not. If God has promised you something, He will deliver, time and time again, through and through.
God is not like the people you know who say they’ll do something, even though you already know they have no intention of following through with what they say. Everyone knows that person that says they will be there for the big event, or that they will call you soon, or get that job done. Even though they say this, you know they do not mean it or even if they do, their word doesn’t mean enough to them to actually carry it out.
Thankfully, God is not like this type of person. God holds His word to be true all the time. He never says anything that He does not do. You can take God’s promises to the bank and cash the check. Waiting can be hard, but know that it is always worth it. Because no matter what the time frame, what is on the other side is not unsure. It will happen. God guarantees it.
