God The Healer

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
Over the last couple of days, we have discussed the things God wants to give you when you open the door for Him in your life. God wants to give you help for the small and large things. He also wants to give you hope—hope for a better future and all that He has in store for your life if you will obey Him. But lastly, He also wants to heal you.
Everyone has something (or someone) in their past that has hurt them, maybe even broken them. If you are reading this right now, you can probably point to that one thing that you just cannot seem to let go of. Maybe it was an event that scarred you. Or maybe it was a person who did you wrong and you just cannot shake it. Right now, you are wearing the hurt of your past like a heavy jacket wrapped around your arms.
But God doesn’t want you to walk around with that kind of weight on your shoulders. It’s time to let go of the baggage slowing you down.
It is easier said than done. The burden is heavy. The hurt is real and it’s deep. But God does not take you where His grace will not sustain you. In other words, God will never ask you to do something He doesn’t give you the strength to do. Today, He wants you to take off the jacket so He can help you. He will give you hope that the future can be better than the past. And in doing so, He will heal you. That is God knocking at your door. Time to answer.
