God Is Always On Time
“But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.” - 2 Peter 3:8
When it comes to waiting on God, the hardest part is understanding God’s timing. Peter describes how, to God, a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. God does not worry about time. He is more concerned with who you become as you are waiting.
See, when God is delaying what you are waiting on, it means everything is not as it needs to be. Sometimes, God has to change you. Perhaps there is an area or multiple areas of your life God wants to correct or change before He gives you what you are asking for. He might know that giving you what you want right now would only do harm because who you are is not currently ready to receive what you are asking for. But by choosing to grow and mature over time, you will be prepared for what it is He wants to give you.
In some cases, it might not be you He is changing, but someone else involved. Or perhaps it is a circumstance that has to further develop. Whatever it is, God knows exactly what has to take place. Many people make the mistake of believing that if God does not immediately answer “yes,” He is saying “no.” But that is just not the case. Many times God will say “yes, but not yet. Wait.” This means that God has to work. We have all heard that while we are waiting, God is working.
So what does God working in the midst of us waiting look like? It could be any of the things above. He is changing hearts. He is changing circumstances, bringing all of the parts together just right. Also, as we have talked about before, God wants to exceed your expectations. He is a loving Father that wants to give you far more than you could ever dream or imagine. Sometimes the waiting feels as though it will never end. But just know one thing, God is never late. Not for me and not for you. He will always show up just in time. Just wait and watch Him bless you in ways that exceed your greatest dreams!
