God’s Stimulus Plan
“The will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” - Matthew 25:40
People are hurting in these challenging times. This pandemic has left so many of us struggling in different ways. However, these are not unprecedented times. Scripture shows us that the Church at Philippi also found themselves in desperate need.
Though they were not given a physical check, they received something even greater, God’s stimulus check—
In God’s kingdom economy, there is a stimulus plan designed to provide an injection of hope, an infusion of peace, and a supply of resources in a time of our greatest need. Yes, we should advocate for what is ours when it comes to public policy, but as God’s people there is another plan to get our needs met.
God provides relief for His people, not just to redeem our souls bound for heaven, but to fix our society right down here on earth. God has a plan for every person on Earth. But He needs you to assist in that plan. God still wants your obedience and for you to trust Him financially.
Regarding the kingdom, Jesus said in Matthew 25, “When I was hungry you fed me. When I was thirsty you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me… and when you have done unto the least of these my brethren you have done unto me.”
When you give, you partner with God in making an impact on the world. It is not about how much you give, but the passion and commitment to give to those in need. God does not need your money. He is resourceful and can accomplish anything He wants regardless of whether or not you are obedient. But if you will trust Him and continue to give to His plan, He will reward you in far greater ways. Trust Him, and allow Him to make you a part of His stimulus plan.
