Be Made Whole
Immediately her hemorrhage stopped; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. Immediately aware that power had gone forth from him, Jesus turned about in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?” And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing in on you; how can you say, ‘Who touched me?’” He looked all around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling, fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” – Mark 5:29-34
When the woman with the bleeding disease in Mark chapter 5 reached out to touch Jesus, seeking healing, the Bible says that her blood flow immediately stopped. There was no progressive healing over time. Jesus didn’t give her a list of steps to follow to be healed. No, she was healed completely, on the spot.
After all that time, after all that struggle, she got what she needed. But she didn’t just receive physical healing. As is true to His character, Jesus did much more for her than just heal her illness.
First, her physical condition got better, but if you read in verse 34, she got so much more than that. She was made whole. Being healed addressed her sickness and her body, but being made whole made her complete. Jesus corrected all the other problems that her sickness had created.
Being made whole means nothing was missing; nothing was lacking. When you go to Jesus with a request, when you come to Him for healing, for relief, or for help, Jesus makes you whole. He restores every aspect of your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. He is all encompassing. He overwhelms us with His love and care. So whatever needs you have today, bring them to the feet Jesus, and experience for yourself how He can make you whole.
