Worth The Wait
“All things work together for the good of them that love God.” - Romans 8:28
We have spent a lot of time talking about the Upper Room - the gathering of those closest to Jesus praying in a time of great need. We have talked about many components of that event, as well as other times where believers have gathered. In many cases after these great times of prayer, the answer is not immediate. God is not telling His people “no,” but instead “not yet” or “wait.”
Oftentimes, things go wrong in our lives because rather than waiting on God, we become impatient and end up doing things our way in our own time. It is easy to understand why we do this: waiting is difficult, particularly when God does not tell us how long we’ll have to wait. But when you wait, you are holding onto God’s promise.
Waiting can be tough. Waiting can be difficult. But God’s promise gives us the assurance that He’ll bring you through. Too many believers want the promise of God but they don’t want the process of God. However, God does not microwave great promises. He does not come when we desire Him to come. But He does always come on time. The great things are worth the wait. No matter how difficult it might be, waiting is worth it.
While we are waiting, God is working. He’s working to make your enemies your footstools. He’s working to make crooked ways straight. He’s preparing you for the blessing He wants to give you. If waiting were easy, everyone would do it, and the rewards would not seem as significant. If you will wait, God will come through for you. Do not rush ahead of Him, because His gifts are always worth the wait.
