Reflecting the Light of the Lord
"For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true." - Ephesians 5:8-9
We have spent the last few days talking about being the light of Christ. As believers, we are called to walk as children of light, reflecting the radiance of the Lord in a world overshadowed by darkness. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, our lives are meant to reflect the light of Christ, illuminating the path for those lost in the shadows.
Yesterday, we referenced Rihanna’s song “Shine Bright Like a Diamond,” What are you reflecting in your life that shines bright like a diamond? Are you reflecting the goodness, righteousness, and truth that comes from walking in the light of the Lord? Or are you allowing the distractions of the world to dim your radiance?
Jesus instructs us to let our light shine before others, not for our own glory or recognition, but so that the world may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. This means living a life that reflects the character and love of Christ in all that we do.
There may be times when reflecting the light of the Lord is challenging. You may face opposition or criticism for standing firm in your faith. Yet, even in the midst of difficult circumstances, we must persevere in shining the light of Christ for the sake of those in darkness.
Our mission is to carry the light of Christ into every corner of the world, bringing hope to the hopeless and shining array of truth in a world filled with confusion and despair. Whether in corporate boardrooms or neglected communities, our light has the power to transform lives and bring about positive change.
Let us not allow anything to dim or extinguish the light within us. Instead, let us boldly shine the light of the Lord for His sake, knowing that through us, His light has the power to illuminate even the darkest of places.
