“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” - Ephesians 3:20
If you want to become all that God intended for you to be and secure a better and brighter future, you have to build upon the progress of the past. God does not want you to remain stagnant. He is a God of movement, a God of progress, a God of evolution, and a God of elevation.
From Genesis through Revelation, we are told in one way or another that God has more for us, that God wants more for us, and that God can do more for those who love Him, live for Him, and listen to Him. Think back to the promise God gave Abraham to take him and his people into the land flowing with milk and honey, to Jesus’ triumph over death, hell, and the grave, to Paul’s declaration that God is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that you could ever ask or imagine.
From these stories, we learn that in one way or another there is more that God wants for each of us. And so, if that is the case, then we should want more for ourselves. We should not become content, complacent, and comfortable with where we are, what we have, and what we have done. We should look beyond the present to envision a life, a world, and a reality that is better, brighter, and greater than where we are right now.
Sadly, many people are like the company we have referenced the last two days, Blackberry, a company that became satisfied with where they were. Their complacency prevented them from going higher, dreaming bigger, and achieving more.
While we should always thank God for what he has done, we must ask ourselves and ask God, what’s next? God, where do we go from here? Ephesians 3:20 tells us, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
He can do more than we might ask or think; all we have to do is ask. So what about you…what’s next?
