When He Speaks, You Move
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
To move with God means you trust Him more than your surroundings. It means you are willing to follow His voice even when your environment tells you to stay still. You don’t let the noise around you drown out the nudge within you. When God speaks, you respond. When He stirs your heart, you don’t dismiss it as a coincidence. When He opens a door, you don’t keep knocking on the old one just because you’re used to it.
Let’s be honest, familiarity can become a trap. Just because something is known does not mean it is where God wants you to stay. Too many people are stuck in old rhythms, old relationships, and old opportunities simply because they feel safe. But faith doesn’t cling to what was. It reaches for what could be. When you trust God, you stop asking Him to make you comfortable and start asking Him to make you courageous.
What makes this so hard is that God's direction rarely comes with detailed explanations. He may simply burden your heart, shift your spirit, or give you a quiet peace about a new direction. And in that moment, your job is not to debate or delay. Your job is to trust and move. The longer you sit on what God is trying to stir, the easier it is to talk yourself out of it.
Maybe you have felt that stirring lately. Maybe you know there’s something God is calling you to let go of or move toward. But fear of the unknown is louder than your faith. That’s where you need to decide, do you trust Him more than you trust your surroundings?
He is not calling you to figure everything out. He is calling you to follow. And often, the clarity you crave will only come once your feet start moving. Familiar does not mean faithful. Safe does not mean obedient. Move when He speaks. Respond when He stirs. Trust Him more than what is around you, because what He has for you is far greater than anything you are clinging to now.
